Music card games ship with an app that only plays through Spotify. If your music lives in Apple Music, you're told to look each song up by hand — which kills the game. HitDeck scans the same cards and plays the song straight from your own Apple Music subscription, so the game runs at the speed it's supposed to.
Cards from the US, UK, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand sets are recognised instantly, offline. Israeli sets too. Cards from other countries also work — they just take a second longer while the song is looked up.
Yes — an active Apple Music subscription, because the songs play from Apple's catalogue through your own account. HitDeck doesn't host or stream any music itself.
The first five cards are the complete experience. After that the free version plays 30-second clips and shows the song details; a one-time purchase unlocks full-length playback with the details hidden.
None. No accounts, no sign-up, no analytics. The camera is only used to read QR codes. The free version shows ads, which is the only thing that touches an advertising identifier — see the privacy policy.
No. HitDeck is an independent app with no affiliation to, or endorsement by, any card game publisher. It simply reads the QR codes on cards you already own.
